On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Minister of Fisheries, Maritime Infrastructure and Ports, Fadhil ولد سيداتي ولد Ahmed Lولي, presented an assessment of the 2020-2024 Sustainable and Integrated Development Strategy for Marine Fisheries before the Council of Ministers.
The assessment aims to inform the government about the extent of the strategy’s implementation according to government directives and sector commitments, “within an approach based on transparency, accountability, and the continuous improvement of public policies.”
The statement reviewed the implementation of the planned measures and the results achieved, and identified the obstacles faced by the sector, whether internal, such as institutional capacity and governance, or external, related to other sectors, or common to both.
The Minister indicated that this assessment will contribute to guiding the next five-year plan (2025-2029) and strengthening the future vision for the sustainable development of marine fisheries.
